Put simply, the condensate pipe disperses waste gases and fluids from the property. As temperatures drop below freezing, they can freeze up which the boiler will see as a blockage. Any blockage in the condensate pipe will cause the boiler to lockout, as it’s no longer safe to continue operating.
The large condensate syphon (500ml) used in the Worcester 4000 pre-heats any condensate discharge meaning the chances of a lockout of this kind is reduced.
